Council Meeting:
Approve minutes or memoranda of the following meetings: May 3,2023. Council Member Darwin Miller made the motion to approve the minutes. Council Member Michael Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0
Approve the Financials: April 2023. Council Member Darwin Miller made the motion to approve the minutes. Council Member Michael Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0

Jeff Province: Wastewater/Stormwater-No Report
Robert Thomas: Water/Street-No Report
Marshal Baer: Town Marshal-New Signs are in and ready to be put up. INDOT will be coming to paint a new crosswalk for students, at the crossing of Range Street. Would like to have crossing lights installed as well.
Lori Bussell: Park Board-No Report
Steve Young Sr: Ambulance Director-Betty Hoster gave the report in Steve’s absence. Looking in to ordering a new ambulance. It will take two years to get the new ambulance once it is ordered.
Kenneth Burns: Volunteer Fire Department- No Report
Sandy Miller- RWCDC- No Report
Janell Hofstetter KIRPC- There will be a meeting at the end of this month.
Michael J Johnson: WCEDC- Annual Meeting will be held 05/17/2023.
Jerry Lietz: Area Plan Committee- No Report
Michelle Earney: Summer Festival Committee- No Report
Marilyn Maxwell: Main St Committee- Main St was awarded $5000.00 grant from the Community Foundation. This money is to be used on the roof of the old Liquor Store. Mannequins will be going up for Memorial Day with the addition of the Coast Guard uniform. American Legion Post 294 donated the uniform.
Jacob Ahler: Town Attorney- No Report
Pamela Bennett: Clerk-Treasurer- Office will close at noon on May 18. The Clerk-Treasurer staff will be going to Fort Wayne June 26-20 for Clerk institute.
Old Business:
Witco Tax Abatement: How many years for the abatement? After very little talk it was decided to give the tax abatement for 10 years. Council Member Darwin Miller made the motion. Council Member Michael Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried. 2-1. Council Member Rex Pearson felt that the abatement should be for only 5 years.
Golf Cart Ordinance 2023-5-16: Council Member Michael Johnson made the motion to approve the Ordinance. Council Member Rex Pearson seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0
Peddler License Ordinance 2023-5-16-2: First reading given by Council Vice President Jerry Lietz.
Resident Mark Bachman Wanted an update on the water situation. Water Superintendent Bob Thomas said that it is getting resolved. It is an issue with the back wash unit.
