Present:          Council President: Betty Hoster, Council Vice President: Michael Johnson

Council Members: Janet Gross, Chris Dye, and Steve Schemerhorn.

Clerk Treasurer: Karie Holder, Deputy Clerk: Breanna Plantenga

Attorney: Jacob Ahler

Other: Daryl Orns, Steve Young, Janell Hofstetter, Kenneth Burns, and Cameron Emond.

Council President Betty Hoster opened the Council Meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The August 18, 2026 Council Meeting Minutes were presented for approval. Council member Janet Gross made a motion to approve the minutes. Council member Steve Schemerhorn second the motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Town Marshal/Street Commissioner, Jared Baer, notified the Council of a possible sump pump issue, causing standing water on Lee Street. Jared stated that Town & Country has not come back yet to complete their work on the streets. They should be back to finish the job at the end of September. Jared also stated that Brian Musser will be doing the sidewalk repair on East Scott Street. The Council had some brief discussion over repaving Waterworks Lane.

Ambulance Director, Steve Young announced that the Wolcott Ambulance Department will be putting on a CPR class for the public.

Town engineer, Ken Smith, presented the Council with a list of possible grants that the Town could apply for. Council Vice President Michael Johnson made a motion for Ken to move forward with the process. Council Member Janet Gross second the motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Jared Baer expressed concerns over taking over the water line west of town.

Clerk Treasurer Karie Holder presented the APV Register to the Council. Council Vice President Michael Johnson made a motion to approve the APV Register. Council Member Chris Dye second the motion. Motion carried 5-0. Karie then presented the July 2026 Financial Review for approval. Council member Chris Dye made amotion to approve the financial Review. Council Member Steve Schemerhorn second the motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Michael Johnson RWCDC representative, announced that the RWCDC is now having quarterly meetings.

Cameron Emond announced that the Festival Committee is getting a new President and Vice President.

Council President Betty Hoster announced that the White County Recycling has been moved to the end of West Market Street.
