TOWN OF WOLCOTT
ORDINANCE FIXING THE MILEAGE RATE FOR THE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN OF WOLCOTT, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 2022
WHEREAS, the Town of Wolcott is desirous of reimbursing Town Officers and Employees for travel expenses when on official town business; and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Accounts has established an audit position of allowing reimbursement based on actual miles traveled in personal motor vehicles on official business if a reasonable rate per mile is fixed by ordinance or resolution; and
WHEREAS, the town of Wolcott authorizes reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle in the conduct of official Town business at mileage rates as allowed by the U. S. Internal Revenue Service; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Internal Revenue Service fixed the standard mileage rate for the use of a car (including vans, pickups, or panel trucks) at .58.5 per mile for business miles driven from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF WOLCOTT, INDIANA, that:
1. The mileage rate for reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle in the conduct of official Town business is hereby fixed at .58.5 per mile during the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
2. All Ordinances and Policies that are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed as to the extent of such inconsistency.
This ordinance shall become in full force and effect upon passage and adoption by the Wolcott Town Council.
